This past weekend marked the first, hopefully of many, Women’s Veterans Doubles Championships aimed at supporting local charities. With a small yet mighty mix of long-time doubles players and some newbies, matches were over 2 days. The Lakeshore T&D Women’s Doubles team played host over the two days, with Cathy Tuckwell taking on the role of Tournament Chair and Official! With the support of the Mayfair Lakeshore Club and the participants, donations are being made to Sick Kids Foundation, the Toronto Humane Society and Women’s College Hospital.
All the participants had a great time playing and cheering each other on as they witnessed some fantastic squash! As far as the squash goes, there were some new faces on the podium and we look forward to seeing more of them in future.
