Host a Tournament

Squash Ontario operates three tournament categories available to Member Clubs in good standing to host: Provincial Championships, Junior Tournaments, and Community Tournaments. Every event will use the Club Locker software where players have access to online results, ratings, rankings, and tournament organizers have access to live scoring.

Please click on the tournament type below for more information about hosting.

Hosting Standards

For those member clubs looking to run a Squash Ontario tournament, please read the Hosting Standards for the circuit you are interested in running. These documents include all of the requirements and details associated with hosting each circuit.

All junior events and provincial championships require a bidding form to be completed by the Tournament Chair, which can be found in the next section of this webpage. After the bidding form deadline, Squash Ontario will reach out to the venues who have been awarded events.

Those venues who would like to run their own Community Event or Bronze Event can fill out the associated form located further down on this webpage.

Sanctioned events cannot fall on the same day as a conflicting Squash Ontario tournament (ie. no adult tournament during a Provincial Championship and no Bronze tournaments during a Junior Grand Prix). These dates are secured on a first come, first serve basis.

Number of courts required for to host an event: Gold/Provincials - 5 or 6+, Silvers - 4+, Grand Prix - 3+. It is understood that certain periods/events during the season have traditionally higher volume of players and clubs with more courts will be given preference at these times.

HOST A Provincial Championship or a junior tournament

This form can be filled out if your club would like to host a Provincial Championship. and/or Junior circuit tournament. The deadline to bid on these events is Sunday, June 16th 2024. Clubs who have successfully been awarded an event will be notified by June 28th, at the latest.

Multi-year bidding is back! You may now bid on tournaments for up to 3 years. Squash Ontario reserves the right to revoke multi-year bids if the host club or tournament chair does not meet the hosting standards and requirements after the first year. Events that are currently reserved for a club who was awarded a multi-year bid will not be found on the drop down list below. Only available events will be shown.

Bids received by clubs after the deadline will be considered late and given last priority.

HOST A COMMUNITY TOURNAMENT

This application form is for any Squash Ontario Member Club who would like to run a sanctioned community tournament through Squash Ontario. There are two options to choose from; Full Sanction or Marketing Only package. Squash Ontario will protect your date to ensure no conflicting event is held within 100 km. Dates are secured on a first come, first serve basis. To read more about the packages and what is included, as well as the NEW fee structure, click on the button below.

Additionally, all players in sanctioned events must be Competitive Members of Squash Ontario (either through our bulk club membership program or as individuals). This is to ensure that all results are reflected in the Club Locker tournament ranking program.

HOST A JUNIOR Bronze Tournament

Junior Bronze events are fun, typically half day events with modified rules and games for novice players, typically aged 7-15. Bronzes are run by the club and players are often placed into groups based on their skill level, not age or gender. There is no effect on rankings for these events and registration is done directly through the host club, unless noted otherwise.

Bronze Events that are sanctioned through Squash Ontario for $40 will be covered by our event insurance, advertised on our website and in our weekly newsletters. Squash Ontario would appreciate participation numbers after the event for Government reporting purposes. Once the form is received, Squash Ontario will reach to collect the sanction fee. Dates are secured on a first come, first serve basis.
