After a condensed season last year due to COVID, the Jesters University League is back and thriving! We were able to return to our normal schedule of 5 competition weekends and we welcomed back McGill University to join our other 10 participating Ontario Universities. Our dedicated players and coaches have travelled across the province throughout this season to face off against each other.
The Jesters of Ontario continuously support this wonderful league year after year, ensuring our teams are well fed and help alleviate the costs associated with the league and competitions. We cannot thank them enough for their generosity and passion towards continuing the growth of University Squash in Ontario. With this sponsorship, many of Ontario's top juniors are opting to stay local, and the level of squash in the league is improving year after year.
After the completion of our regular season competitions, McMaster Women and Western Men have proven victorious finishing with perfect 9-0 and 10-0 records, respectively. Rounding out the top three teams are Queen’s and McGill for the women, and University of Toronto and Waterloo on the men’s side. For results from the regular season play, click here.
What’s next for our teams? Laurier and TMU men will be facing off at Greystone Racquet Club in Waterloo for the Division 2 title. The remaining 8 schools will be at the 2023 OUA Championships at Queen’s University in Kingston this coming weekend. Western Mustangs men’s team will be looking to improve their record-breaking winning streak to a 39th straight year. The Queen’s Gaels women’s team will fight for their 8th consecutive win after coming second in regular season play to a strong McMaster women’s squad!
