  • Canada’s largest 2021 purse

  • Players coming from 18 countries

  • 17 entries ranked in the world’s top 100

  • 28 First time participants

The Women’s Draw

The women’s draw is strong with 7 seeded players ranked in the world’s top 100 and all within 20 positions of each other. Nikki Todd (wr 62), a fan favourite, returns as the #3 seed. She is the only player to have compete in all 8 years of the NASH Cup Women’s division. Top seed Hana Moataz played in the 2019 NASH Cup and lost in the second round. She has come a long way in the world rankings going from 142nd to 57th during that time. This year she’ll receive a firstround bye and face either Hannah Blatt (CAN) or Lucy Beecroft (ENG) in the draw of 16.

One of the reasons for running the NASH Cup in 2021 is to help our rising starts gain tournament experience and world ranking points. The field is loaded with young Canadians looking to make their mark. Catherine Giachino (187) of London is joined by Hannah Blatt (302) of Winnipeg as well as new PSA members Hannah Guthrie (Windsor) and Amal Izhar (Mississauga). Points earned in this competition will be instrumental for future event entries.

The Men’s Draw

The men’s draw is highlighted by the return of our 2019 Champion Auguste Dussourd of France (wr57). He stands apart from the field in ranking, but will face stiff competition from 9 other players ranked in the world top 100 including our 2012 Champion Shawn Delierre (CAN; wr82).

There is a very strong contingent of Canadian players in the draw including. Shawn is joined by Mike McCue (85); David Baillargeon (94); Nick Sachvie (94); Cameron Seth (135); Connor Turk (179); Cory McCartney (205) and Western University captain Elliott Hunt (695). Also in the field are fan favourites Stu Hadden (IRE; 416) who is a professional at the Detroit Athletic Club, and Alister Walker (BOT; 194) who participated in an exhibition match in London against Shahier Razik.

The NASH Cup is one of only 3 PSA events taking place in Canada in 2021 and is offering the country’s largest purse. The tournament has hosted over 250 players from 44 countries and attracts a global viewing audience. Full event details can be found at www.nashcup.com
