An Ontario blizzard couldn’t stop the largest provincial mixed doubles tournament in Squash Ontario history this past weekend! Squash Ontario is overjoyed by the number of teams that entered into this event which doubled the participation average from the last 20 years, with a special shout out to the Mixed B draw that saw 25 teams this year, beating the record for that division by 5 teams. There are many explanations for this upward trend of competition and participation in doubles squash, but most notably we want to thank the Toronto & District Women’s Squash League and the Ontario Squash Doubles League conveners/volunteers for their efforts to grow their own leagues, and the leagues and clubs for developing doubles programs within their regions/members.
The 2020 Hennessy & Hinchcliffe Ontario Mixed Doubles Presented by Slaight Music ran without a hitch at the Mayfair Parkway under the leadership of Tournament Chair (and Champion) Cole Osborne and Tournament Referee Tim Mallory. These events also wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors Hennessy & Hinchcliffe (Mark Hinchcliffe) and Slaight Music (Gary Slaight) - tireless double squash supporters. Also, special thanks to the Mayfair Parkway members who teamed up to provide extra value for this event .
And with pleasure, we present the 2020 Hennessy & Hinchcliffe Ontario Mixed Doubles Presented by Slaight Music Champions:
