Squash Ontario Crowns Final Provincial Champions of the Year at the 2023 Ontario Closed Championships
The 2023 Ontario Men’s Closed Championships took place this past weekend at the Glendon Athletic Club, home of the Squash Ontario office! With multiple divisions, many of which had full draws, we shut the club down both Friday and Saturday night, playing matches until closing time.
With over 60 men registered, 4 beautiful courts and 6 divisions, viewers were treated to non-stop squash action all throughout the weekend, including an 8 person Open draw with some of the province’s best players. Past provincial and national champion, Nick Sachvie defeated one of Canada’s rising stars, Salah Eltorgman in the Open final.
A thank you to Squash Ontario staff for chairing the event all weekend, as well as our certified officials Sofia Navadeh, Bob Mansbridge and Wayne Smith. The team ensured a smooth weekend and matches that went as per scheduled.
