Squash Ontario is the governing body for all organized squash activities in the province since 1978. Our mandate is to develop and grow the sport in all regions and demographics and to service Ontario’s individual and club members. Our vision is that squash will be a leading life long recreational and competitive sport in Ontario. Squash Ontario has ambitious goals in its 2023-2027 “Squash for All” strategic plan to introduce squash to more players than ever before, ensuring the sport’s continued growth. By 2027, we want to see 30,000 people introduced to the sport through Learn to Play programs, mobile squash courts and open house events. We also want to see wheelchair squash programs up and running and equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives underway. To meet these goals, we will need to expand our team with the hiring of a Community Engagement Coordinator.
Candidate Requirements:
Completed post-secondary education in a related field,
Experience playing and/or coaching squash,
Experience working in community engagement/activations, event management, or a related field,
Highly effective planning and organization skills with a strong attention to detail,
Goal-oriented,
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to professionally represent Squash Ontario in a multitude of environments,
Be well versed in the Office Suite computer programs, zoom, social media platforms and general computer literacy,
Knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva,
Have a smart phone with Wi-Fi capabilities as we use an app for office phones,
Have a G drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
Working Conditions:
This is a two-year position with a hybrid work model.
We are open to working with the ideal candidate in a full time or part time capacity.
The selected candidate will ideally be based in the Toronto area, and/or able to work 2 days/week at the Squash Ontario office at Glendon Campus, Proctor Field House, 2275 Bayview Avenue in Toronto.
This position includes competitive salary commensurate with experience, flexible scheduling, and competitive vacation policies.
This position will require travel to attend events as well as evening and weekend work.
