The Step 1 regulations are now published, and squash day camps are officially permitted to run starting Friday, June 11th.
Pursuant to updated O. Regulation 82/20, day camps are permitted under Section 24 of Schedule 7 to the Regulation so long as they are operated in a manner consistent with the safety guidelines for Covid-19 produced by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health. Please see links below for both the MOH Safety Guidelines for Day Camps and Squash Ontario's Day Camp Guidance.
Community centres, multi-purpose facilities as well as facilities for indoor sports and recreational fitness activities are specifically allowed to be open to provide space for day camps (pursuant to sections 25 and 45 of Schedule 7 to the Regulation). Please note that the facility operator must record the name and contact information of every member of the public who attends the facility and maintain the records for at least one month.
Squash facilities can only be open for the purpose of providing day camps. No squash play or instruction is permitted outside of day camp offerings, and no “adult day camps” are permitted to run.
