We’re back and ready to luau in support of growing squash. Let’s celebrate the end (we hope) of lockdown and a new beginning (we hope) of squash by doing the hula through 18 holes of golf with the squash community that we so dearly miss. All proceeds from this event will support Squash Ontario’s 2021-2022 Sport Development Initiatives that aim to introduce 5000 brand new players to squash over the next year!

This event will look a little different than previous years in order to respect COVID-19 safety requirements. The Lockdown Luau will be a tee time event (no shotgun) and players will be using shared golf carts equipped with protective dividers. At this point, gathering in groups outdoors is limited, so players will be asked to arrive with just enough time to check in, play in the putting contest, and tee off!

Don’t worry, there will be lots of opportunities to get involved and support this event through virtual fundraising activities leading up to tee off time!

The annual charity golf tournament is Squash Ontario’s key fundraising event of the year which contributes to all aspects of Squash Ontario’s Athlete and Sport Development Initiatives. As a not-for-profit organization, much of the work to grow the sport would not be attainable without the support of donors and we thank everyone who wishes to contribute to growing this amazing game.

This upcoming squash season, Squash Ontario has ambitious goals to introduce 5,000 brand new squash players to the game across the province. Players and clubs alike have been put out due to the pandemic, and we want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to see that this game can bounce back stronger than ever when it is safe to do so. If we are going to be successful in this goal, we need all the help we can get fundraising throughout May and June, leading up to the 2021 Charity Golf Classic “Lockdown Luau”.

Athlete Development initiatives include:

  • Team Ontario (Junior) for the Canada Winter Games & Ontario Winter Games

  • Junior provincial training camps and national testing

  • Awards & Scholarships

  • Competition Support

Sport Development initiatives include:

  • University & School Squash

  • Try-It Day Campaigns

  • Adults Sport & Social Clubs
