Dear Squash Ontario Members,
After careful consideration and in the interest of the health and safety of the squash community, Squash Ontario has postponed all junior and provincial championship events to assist in the prevention of the COVID-19 spread until April 16th at a minimum. Our hope is that over the next 6 weeks, the situation may improve and we will reassess possible further postponements/cancellations on a week by week basis. Affected athletes will receive further communication as it pertains to rescheduling of their specific events and to issue refunds as needed. We thank the Squash Ontario community for their support in this difficult time and wish them health and safety in the coming weeks.
The following tournaments have been rescheduled to the dates listed below:
2020 Toronto Centre for Medical Imaging Ontario Open, A & Masters Championships Presented by McWil Canada, Toronto, May 8-10, 2020. VENUE TBA.
2020 Assante Wealth Management Ontario Junior Open, Niagara on the Lake, May 1-3, 2020
Mortgage Company of Canada Junior Silver #8 Presented by Harrow, Windsor, May 9-10, 2020
Jesters Harrow Junior Grand Prix #7, Vaughan, May 2, 2020
Jesters Harrow Junior Grand Prix #8, Toronto, DATE TBD
Jesters Harrow Junior Grand Prix Finale, Toronto, May 9, 2020
Sanctioned community events, Jesters Harrow Grand Prix # 9 (April 18) and Mortgage Company of Canada Silver Championships Presented by Harrow (April 25-26) will continue as planned until further notice.
Squash Ontario will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation daily and will communicate any more changes by email and at www.squashontario.com .
In addition, yesterday Squash Canada announced that all national championship events are postponed until further notice. This will apply to the following events:
· Canadian Doubles Championships, Toronto, ON, April 2-5, 2020
· Canadian Junior Championships, Victoria, BC, April 23-26, 2020
· Canadian Mixed Doubles Championships, Markham, ON, April 23-26, 2020
· Canadian Squash Championships, Niagara on the Lake, ON, May 5-9, 2020
· Canadian U23 Championships, Niagara on the Lake, ON, May 7-10, 2020
