An Account of the World Transplant Games from an Adelaide Club Member

Vincent Fearon, an Adelaide Club member in Toronto, represented Canada at the 2019 World Transplant Games in England this past summer. Our hearts are warmed with Vincent’s account below from his 2017 WTG experience as we are reminded that sport isn’t just about competition, but community and so much more.

The Games have been around for over 30 years and are open to 8 types of transplant recipients- the Brits and the Iranians dominate squash but there are many other sports and this year there were about 2500 competitors from 60 countries including Ethiopia and Azerbaijan. The Games occur every 2 years at the world level.
