Last night, March 30th, 2017, nearly 200 people came together to celebrate three newly inducted members into the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame, and honour all of the current Hall of Fame members. It was our (Squash Ontario) pleasure to work alongside the Hall of Fame Board of Governors - Dr. Anne Smith, Peter Hall, Tony Swift, Penny Glover, Sherry Funston, and Rob Brooks.
The evening was about cherishing past accomplishments and the hard work that these individuals have given to the squash community. In 2005, the Ontario Squash Hall of Fame was launched with the vision to promote greater awareness of squash's history, recognizing individual contributions, and to preserve the heritage of the game. Robert Brooks, Victor Harding, and Jim Kenward have given their lives to the sport and will now be recognized as Ontario Squash Hall of Fame members. Their accomplishments will be highlighted in the squash community always.
Jim, Victor and Rob will now join 23 other Squash Ontario heroes as our rich history continues and will be enshrined at the Hall of Fame at White Oaks, where appropriately 170 juniors who have been inspired by these outstanding role models will compete this coming weekend.
