Ontario Jesters University League Season Wrap up

Squash Ontario is pleased to share an end of season update of the Jesters University League with you all. After navigating multiple lockdowns, new school protocols and restrictions, our dedicated coaches, players and sponsors came together to make sure this season could happen!

With many schools unable to travel over night or host more than one home match per day, there was no doubt our regular format would have to temporarily change. With continued funding from our sponsors, the Jesters of Ontario, Squash Ontario worked with coaches to create plan that would allow for as many match ups as possible.

Eleven schools committed to participating in the 2021-2022 Jesters League and competed in three one-day sectionals leading up to the Championships this weekend at The Club at White Oaks, in Niagara. At each sectional, schools were placed in pools to limit the amount of players in the facility and to keep travel to a minimum. Each team played two quality matches throughout the day, for a total of 6 Jesters League matches throughout the season.

On the Men's side, University of Western Ontario and University of Toronto went undefeated, followed by University of Waterloo and Brock University finishing with a 4-2 record. Reigning women's champions, Queens University, finished their league play undefeated with University of Toronto closely behind finishing 5-1. University of Western Ontario and Guelph University both finished with an impressive 4-2 record.

Results for all the Jesters University League matches and the Division 2 Championships can be found below.

Going into the Championship weekend, Queens women and Western men are looking to add another year to their already impressive winning streak. For those of you who would like to follow along with this weekend's OUA Championship matches, there will be live scoring and results - link below!
