Squash Ontario Crowns Provincial Champions at the Ontario Closed Championships
Squash Ontario has its newest cohort of provincial champions with the 2022 Ontario Closed Championships coming to completion this past weekend at Mayfair Parkway, Markham.
With just under 100 players registered, viewers were witness to high level squash action all through the weekend. Players were competing for titles in Men’s & Women's A, B, C, D and Open Divisions. Past provincial champions and top seeds, Samantha Cornett and Mike McCue took home the gold medals without dropping a game along the way!
A huge shout out to the tournament chair Cory McCartney, as well as officials present at the tournament under the leadership of Noman Nadeem. The team ensured a smooth weekend and matches that went as per scheduled. The host club Mayfair Parkway did a tremendous job at ensuring the players were all comfortable at the facility and had a good time post match.
