Squash Professional - Job Description

Mayfair Clubs is a private club which offers members access to leading fitness, tennis and squash facilities in 4 locations across the Greater Toronto Area. For over 40 years, Mayfair has offered the finest quality programs and activities in fitness and racquet sports.

Mayfair is currently seeking a F/T Squash Professional at the Parkway location. As a Squash Professional at Mayfair Parkway you will have direct and indirect oversight of a variety of aspects of the Squash Program. The role reports to the Parkway Club General Manager and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide coaching and direction to the existing Members & Guests
  • Manage existing adult programs and clinics at the Parkway to maximize Member enjoyment and profitability
  • Manage teams at Parkway
  • Manage tournaments and events (both in-house and Squash Ontario & Squash Canada)
  • Continue to build on existing recreational programs and clinics for youth and children
  • Continue to build the junior high-performance program
  • Work in close collaboration with the entire Management Team to ensure programs and clinics run smoothly and continue to be an integral part of Mayfair Parkway

The ideal candidate will have the following requirements to be successful in the role:

  • Level 2 coach certification
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in running successful programs and events and teaching lessons and clinics
  • Experience running medium to large squash events and tournaments
  • Be an independent thinker who requires little supervision, be self-motivated, and is equally comfortable being a strong team player
  • Demonstrated people management soft skills and also be able to have influence and impact with indirect reporting relationships
  • Successfully create programs and clinics for youth and adults
  • Proven effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and desire to socially engage with a wide audience including members, guests and staff on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with high attention to detail and organization  
  • Clear vulnerable persons sector screen
