Rob Brooks and his Executive Squash team played host this past weekend to 22 high school squash teams for the annual Jim Mason Cup High School Challenge. Congratulations to Tecumseh Vista Academy Secondary School who secured the coveted Jim Mason Cup this year, led by coach Graig Guthrie, captain Ryan Guthrie, Luca Dalla Bona, Jagroop Bhangoo, Hannah Guthrie, Phil Dimitrov, Maxi Bistrev, and Rajan Sandhu. Vista won the final in a 5-2 series against their Windsor counterpart Vincent Massey Secondary School with defending champion Lawrence Park from Toronto coming in third.
A.N. Myer Secondary School swept the podiums for Division 2 and the new "Emerging Teams" division. At Division 2, A.N Myer's Lucas Mazzone, Spencer Royce, Taylor Glauser, Nick DiFruscio, Steven Lovrics, Chelsea Wall, and Hailey Blanchfield, with coach Domenic Marino, won in a 5-2 final against Lawrence Park from Toronto, with St. Francis Catholic Secondary School from St. Catharines placing third.
In the Emerging Teams division, A. N. Myer's Dylan DiCienzo, Aidan LaPointe, Asha Balough, Xander DeAngelis and Ivdeep Dhillon won the title in a close 3-2 win against the Orangeville Disctrict Secondary School, with Notre Dame College School coming in third.
