With the home stretch of the 2018 squash season around the corner, Squash Ontario is gearing up for the one of the marquee events of the season on April 6th – 8th at Mayfair Parkway in Markham. With top professionals from the area competing for $4000 in prize money alongside the very best masters players in the province across 16 age categories, the 2018 PBL Insurance Ontario Open is an ideal season ending tournament for some and the perfect warm-up before Nationals for others.
With title sponsor PBL Insurance and presenting sponsor Racquet Guys providing prize money and amazing tournament value to our competitors and Mayfair Parkway, one of the top masters clubs in the province playing host, this tournament is a squash enthusiast's dream.
Former champions of this event include world class players Samantha Cornett, Diego Elias, Hollie Naughton, Shawn Delierre, Nikki Todd, Nick Sachvie and Mike McCue and will also feature top University players and Team Ontario junior athletes looking to gain valuable experience. On the Masters side, legends like Elka Markus, Willie Hosey, Julie Hisey, David Sly, Lisa Coates, Tom Powers, Kathy Cowper, Bruce Marrison and Vinny Taylor have all recently hoisted the trophies in what is always a fun event both on and off the courts. In addition, Men’s and Women’s A draws and 30 and 50 plus B/C draws are available as companion events for those that want to take part in the action.
