Eight of the top junior programs descended on Mayfair Lakeshore last weekend to see who is the club to beat in the inaugural Roundtable Capital Cup U15 Team Club Champs.  The event was the brainchild of long time Squash Ontario supporter Peter McCarthy and his team at Roundtable Capital in order to build teamwork and camaraderie in a fun intercollegiate style format.

Allan Cook’s Ontario Racquet Club came in as the favourite and did not disappoint with a dominant performance, showing the talent and depth that has made it one of the best programs in North America.  His team of Salma Mounir, Amal Izhar, Faazil Khan, Aleeza Khan, Aryan Sehrawat, Shamil Khan and Arham Izhar defeated Dave Morrish’s Windsor team in the finals who was captained by #1 Vishaal Mehta. 3rd place went to Captain Ben Marrison’s Mayfair Lakeshore, while Leah McGillicuddy’s Granite squad placed 4th and Ewen Harris’ Toronto Lawn and Tennis Club placed 5th.

Most importantly all of the players had fun and got to experience team competition in preparation for the ever expanding high school and University squash programs that these U15’s will no doubt continue on to play in.

With thanks to Roundtable Capital, Mayfair Lakeshore and all of the coaches and captains – get training for next year to bring the CUP to your club!
