Dear Female Squash Players and aspiring squash players from the Durham Region,
Squash Ontario, in conjunction with the Toronto and District Women's Squash Association and the Ajax Community Center are thrilled to announce a Durham Women's Squash Open House. The event will take place Saturday March 4th at the Ajax Community Center from 1:00pm - 4:00pm and will include an instructional clinic for beginners and/or those coming out of retirement, an organized fun round robin, and an exhibition match featuring top Canadian females. In addition, there will be snacks and refreshments and an opportunity to meet new squash players and get information about how to get more involved in our fabulous sport.
The clinic will be run by the 7-time Ontario and 3-time Canadian Masters Champion Julie Hisey, who hails from the Durham Region and will be supported by TDWSA and Squash Ontario professionals and coordinators. No experience or equipment necessary for beginners and intermediates who have not dusted off the racquet for some time. Intermediate and advanced players will have a wide variety of competitive players to mix and match with and will be guaranteed a great sweat. Format as follows:
· 1:00pm - 2:00pm Beginner/Intermediate Clinic
· 2:00pm - 3:20pm Round Robin for all levels
· 3:20pm - 4:00pm Refreshments and Exhibition Match
Interested players can register by contacting info@tdwsa.com for more information or to RSVP.
Special thanks to the Ajax Community Center who have a very active 5 court facility and a supportive professional staff including recreation coordinator Kevin Smith, league coordinator Bud Clark and teaching professional Will Mariani. In addition, the Toronto and District Women's Squash Association and their leadership have dramatically increased participation and momentum for both league play and general interaction between enthusiastic females that love to play squash!
