The biggest match of the year!
The University of Western Ontario squash players are training hard because their biggest match of the year takes place this Saturday! Saturday January 7th the Mustangs play US Naval Academy in London Ontario. The event will be hosted at London Squash and Racquet Club located at 76 Albert St, London Ontario. This match is open to the public and everyone is strongly urged to come down and cheer on the Mustangs. Navy is currently ranked #14 in the CSA and Western is ranked #18. A win vs Navy could propel Western into Division 2 going into the second half of the season.
It is a rare occasion when a school makes the trip North to play outside of the US and coach Derek Moore would love to have the most vibrant and energetic atmosphere possible. What better way to do that than to have a packed house with Mustang Squash Alumni in the stands cheering on the guys. LSRC is a licenced club and also serves food so it’s a one stop shop for your afternoon and evening if you choose to attend.
The match vs Navy will begin at 2pm sharp. It will include intros from both teams and then 10 matches to determine the winning team. If you are interested in attending and have any other questions, please feel free to contact Derek at dmoore63@uwo.ca.
