About the Coaching Foundations Course: Squash Canada’s Coach Certification Program aligns with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and with the Long Term Player Development model. This program is designed to ensure that coaches are properly trained and certified to develop our athletes in the best way possible. The Coaching Foundations Course is required for certification as a "Squash Assistant" or "Squash Instructor".
This course will introduce the fundamentals of coaching and train coaches to teach beginner squash players in the Active Start, FUNdamentals, Learning to Train and Active for Life stages of athlete development. Coaches will learn the roles of the Squash Assistant and Squash Instructor, Basic Coaching Skills, Stroke Fundamentals and Sequencing of Technical Skills, Lesson Formatting, the Basic Strokes, Basic Tactics and Individual Concepts, and Group and Individual Lessons. Prior coaching experience is not required but knowledge of the sport will be helpful.

Once all of the components are completed, candidates should inform Squash Ontario that they are ready to proceed onto the final evaluation.
Refund Information
All courses require a minimum of 4 participants to run. If a course does not meet this requirement, full refunds will be applied.
Space is limited to 6 participants.
Refunds of 95% of the total cost will be awarded if the withdrawal occurs more than one week prior to the course start date. E.g. If Friday September 18th is the course start date, participants must withdraw by Thursday September 10th in order to get the 95% refund. Refunds between one week prior to the start date and the start date are subject to a 50% administration fee and no refunds are given after the start date.
