About the Intermediate Coaching Course:
The Intermediate Coaching Course covers all that is required to be trained to meet the needs of recreational and competitive intermediates. After training, these coaches may seek evaluation as an Intermediate Instructor OR a Club Coach depending on coaching goals. Evaluations for these certifications differ: type of athletes, depth of analysis, length of evaluation process and extra requirements.
Instruction Stream (Intermediate Instructor): This type of instructor helps players refine basic squash skills and introduces intermediate strokes and related performance skills to intermediate, recreational players. In addition, he/she is able to schedule, plan and promote programs and activities, including fun tournaments, suitable for the recreations players of all levels and ages in a club. The goals of this group of players are more short-termed.
Competition Stream (Club Coach): This type of coach will be trained to work with all levels of recreational players as above. In addition they will also be trained to work with juniors and young adults who are more competitive and have potential to become our next stream of high performance players. These athletes train to refine their intermediate squash skills and train on a seasonal basis to improve their general fitness and prepare for competitive play and regional tournaments. The sport provides an opportunity to teach values and develop social skills.
