Event Details:
The Rob Brooks Cup, a new club team championships component will debut alongside the traditional Ontario Masters Championships.
Clubs with an active masters community can now submit their individual entries as well a team entry to increase the social and fun component of the tournament. In addition, B/C events will be offered alongside the open/A age categories, so club players can compete alongside high performance masters in a team environment.
A minimum of 4 players per team can enter the event per club (players can still enter as individuals) and there is no maximum. Points will be awarded to the top 6 finishers from each club in all (including B/C) categories per team as follows:
- 8 points for the champion
- 6 points for the runner-up
- 4 points for 3rd place
- 3 points for 4th place
- 2 points for 5th place
- 1 point for 6th place
The event is sure to be a wonderful atmosphere with the legendary Rob Brooks at the helm. The event includes Saturday social event, flexible scheduling, Squash Ontario officials on-site refereeing and a chance for our HP masters to earn spots on Team Ontario at the 2017 Canadian Masters Team Championships in Edmonton. Squash Ontario's own Executive Director and recent "masters player" Jamie Nicholls will be captaining a team and attempting to get his hands on a provincial title at the Rob Brooks Cup!
