REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

In 1978, the framework for decentralization into regions was established and there has been (and continues to be) consistent review and revisions to boundaries as the squash population in the province grows and diversifies.

The regions assist the Board in focusing on policies directly related to regional issues. They endorse, support, enforce and communicate Squash Ontario policies at that level and they actively solicit input from those involved with or affected by the sport of squash.

The regional executive committees are peopled with volunteers from the clubs within the regions. Members of a club appoint a club representative to sit on the regional committee. The committee then elects a president, a vice president, a treasurer and establishes any other portfolios which are consistent with the needs and goals of the region.

The president of the region attends the Squash Ontario annual meeting as a voting delegate and a region's votes at the provincial annual meeting are based upon the number of member courts within the region.
