- Be an individual member in good standing of Squash Ontario at the date of selection
- Be either a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant
- Have resided in Ontario for 12 months prior to the announced date of the Ontario Masters Closed Championship
- Be age eligible for the Masters Closed as of the first day of the tournament in the year of selection and be able to participate in his/her age category as of this date

- Selection based on order of finish in the Ontario Masters Closed in the year of selection
- Should there not be a full draw competing at the Ontario Masters Closed Championship (i.e. less than 4 competitors entered in an age category) it may be necessary to hold a further competition to selection athletes to fill the position(s). Should this situation arise, the Vice President Technical, Competitions will appoint an independent panel to adjudicate the issue
- If any of these winners are unable to accept the invitation, then the 2nd place finisher in that winner's division would be invited to be a member of the team. If neither the winner or runner up in a division is able to accept the invitation, then the Committee would complete the team, by selecting from entrants in the Masters Closed Championship, taking into account, but not being bound by, the rankings at the end of the Masters Closed Championship.
